Oil on canvas & wood panel
BFA - OCAD
To my humble opinion, Erin Loree is the best abstract painter currently active in the world. She is able to radiate light from within the canvas and/or wood panel, as if here composition were mounted on a light-box. Erin’s creative process is as fascinating as the final result. First, she brushes exquisitely smooth gradients of colour all over the surface.
Once the under-paint has dried, she adds extremely thick blocks of oil (literally emptying tubes and tubes of paint on the canvas) and then swirls it around using her hand-made rubber squeegees. With this signature method, Erin Loree achieves an imitable and innovative abstraction, over-powering with vitality, grace, strength and harmony.
Erin Loree graduated from OCAD (Ontario College of Arts and Design) in 2012 and hasn't stop producing masterpieces since. Her artworks are highly demanded by collectors all around the globe and have been shown in Venice, Toronto, Brooklyn, SCOPE Miami, Montréal and San Francisco.
